A garden of Flowers

We are learning about spring this week in preschool. 

At the art table I put out  small bowls of paint and water bottles 

and told the kids they could paint a  garden with the water bottles. 

They thought it was so fun to dip water bottles in paint 

and stamp flowers with them. I added circle shaped sponges

( I found them with the tole painting supplies at Walmart). 

for the center of the flowers. When they were happy with their gardens I gave 

them a paint pot of green paint and let them add stems, leaves and grass. 

The gardens came out amazing. Each one a bit different.

 Each one  full of color and creativity!

Supplies needed

Butcher paper cut into the  length of  your choice. 

(ours were about 24"  long)

water bottles (we used 5 with 5 colors of paint)

small bowls for the paint and water bottles

circle shaped sponges

washable tempera paint.

paint pots and brushes.(for the green paint)

Planes, cars, trucks, and trains!

What fun it is to run vehicles through a plate of paint and then across a sheet of paper!

Today in preschool we learned about different ways to travel. I set assorted vehicles in the plates of paint and asked each child what vehicle would you pick if you wanted to fly in the sky? What would you climb into if you were traveling on railroad tracks? I had a boat, bike, plane, train, car, mud bog truck, and a skateboard! The kids had such fine naming the vehicles and even more fun racing them on their paper!

For added fun I set out giant Tt's for them to paint across with the vehicles 

 as they shared their favorite way to travel.
